Last week in reading we read a book called What if You Had Animal Teeth? We read this book because in science we have been talking about plants and animals and how they adapt. In reading we were also focusing on using our schema to help us understand what we read. Our schema is all the information in our brains. We had fun reading the book and talking about what we already knew about these animal's teeth.
After we finished the book we each chose an animal whose teeth we would want as our front teeth. We used a planning page to write the three facts to support our choice. We then wrote a first draft. After fixing anything on our draft we finalized the draft and created a picture of ourselves with our animal teeth.
It was a lot of fun to see the different teeth! Our writing and artwork is displayed on the bulletin board in our hallway.
