We have been very busy the last couple weeks! We are already getting ready to finish our first quarter as third graders! It has been great watching these students grow so much in only a couple months! In science we are finishing up our third chapter about plants and animals living together in ecosystems. We will be having our project based test starting Wednesday and Thursday of this week. Students will pick an ecosystem they would like to display and will be asked to include different plants, animals, and nonliving things in their posters. We are currently finishing up our first chapter in Social Studies and will be having our test on Thursday! We just started our third chapter in math where we will be focusing on adding and subtracting with regrouping. Busy, busy, busy!!
Over the course of the next couple weeks we will be reading some fiction and nonfiction stories about fall and Halloween as we approach the end of October. We will be exploring different nonfiction text features and applying our knowledge when we look at different nonfiction books about Halloween and fall.
Parent-teacher conferences are starting next Monday! There will be a couple more reminders sent home just to remind you of your conference time that you signed up for. I look forward to meeting with each of you! :)
Just a reminder that there is no school this Friday or next Friday!
