In reading we have been learning about and practicing comprehension skills. We use these skills to make sure we understand what we are reading. Our big idea is that we should constantly be thinking while we are reading. This past week we focused on retelling a story in order. We also use these skills in our writing to make sure that we are telling a story or steps in order using words such as: first, next, then, and last.
We read a story about how to make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. We then wrote the steps in order. We took time talking about how it is important to be able to give directions in order. On Friday we put those skills to use and made peanut butter and jelly sandwiches using our steps that we put together. It was a lot of fun!
