It has been a busy few weeks since we got back from winter break! We rearranged our afternoon schedule to start getting ready for reading centers. At the end of the day, some of the students are now doing reader's theater! Reader's theater helps build reading fluency. Students learn to read at the "just right" pace and use expression while they are reading aloud. We generally get in small groups and practice our scripts for a week before starting a new script. A few weeks ago, the students asked if they could "present" their reader's theater to the other groups and a couple other students. They did a great job using expression in their reading! We will continue to work on reading fluency and reading aloud.
